Tomorrow's just your future yesterday

we finally finished reading Harry Potter today. took us long enough...(a week, lol)


I haven't studied this stuff anywhere near as much as Loren has, so my theories might be a little...off...but whatever. this is just what I think.

I knew Dumbledore was gonna die...not officially, but I'd heard rumours, and they hinted at it a lot during the book. I just didn't think it was gonna be Snape who did it. I guess I just don't want to believe that he's completely evil...I mean, Dumbledore trusted him so much, I honestly don't think that he's evil. He did it because Draco couldn't...a combination of the Unbreakable Vow (could she not have come up with a better name?) and not wanting to make Draco a killer. and I think that Dumbledore knew it was coming, too...that's why he petrified Harry. Dumbledore knew it was coming, and that it had to, but he also knew that Harry would've tried to stop it from happening if he could have. By having killed Dumbledore, Snape has probably gained Voldemort's trust, so now, really, Snape has more freedom to do stuff for the side of good, because Voldemort won't suspect him of deceit quite as much. the only thing that really doesn't fit is the expression on Snape's face when he kills Dumbledore...I dunno.

family theory: Dumbledore will come back as a ghost in Hogwarts in the next book. because, according to my sister from what they said in the 5th book (since she's currently reading it), people can choose whether they want to stick around as a ghost and help out the world of the living. and it just seems like Dumbledore would do that...I guess I can't fathom him letting something silly like his own death get in his way of helping the school that has been his life forever.

next thing. romance. holy lots of couples, Batman. I like the Harry/Ginny one, it's cute (though I've always been a closet Draco/Ginny shipper myself, lol). I suppose it's a little cliche, especially with how Ginny says she's never really given up hope on him. *shrug* and I think Ginny's going to fight the whole breaking-up thing. honestly. it seems silly for Rowling to let Harry be happy for such a short time, and then just kill it right there. they'll be back together by the end of the next book, probably.

Hermione and Ron just need to get together officially, for crying out loud. they've been arguing like an old married couple practically since the first book, they just need to get it over with. suspect that it'll probably happen at Fleur&Bill's wedding.

Lupin/Tonks? now where did that come from? I need to go back and read the 5th book again, because I seriously can't remember anything that would've even hinted towards this in that book. I mean, I don't disapprove, really, I think it's kinda cute, though Lupin is really too old for her, it just took me by surprise. I guess it's just that most of the other couples, at least there was a hint in the previous books, and this completely came out of nowhere.

next point. Inferi. Yes, zombie movies are the "in" thing right now, but did Rowling really need to put it in her books? *fumes* *doesn't like zombies*

who's going to be head of Gryffindor house, now that McGonagall's Headmistress? my mum suggests Hagrid, but according to my sister, he was Hufflepuff? so not a clue on that one. please discuss! lol

Draco. will he ever turn to the side of good? not sure, as he's off with Snape now (though since Snape is still a double-agent, that might help bring him to the good side). clues as to yes: lowering his wand right before the Death Eaters showed up, crying about it in the bathroom (and this is why I always had a tiny soft spot for him! lol). I think that one of two things could happen. He could be convinced to come to the side of good sometime in the last book, or he and Harry will finally have a face-off and Draco will get killed. I mean, it makes sense that he and Harry will face off eventually...it's sorta been coming for a while (since dueling practice in the 2nd book, I guess...)

R.A.B. Regulus Black? several people seem to think so. it would make sense, especially with all the other stuff Loren said about it. locket in 12 Grimmauld Place (did they ever describe it in the book, by the way?), all that stuff.

I wonder what the other Horcrux is, the one that they don't know for sure about. I'm pretty sure that one is Nagini...that's why, in the dream Harry had about Nagini attacking Mr Weasley, Harry was in Nagini's mind and could also hear Voldemort's thoughts/orders and whatnot.

school. I'm sure they will re-open it. especially if Dumbeldore comes back as a ghost, he'll counsel everyone to keep it open (or even if he doesn't, they can talk to his portrait on the wall, which would say the same thing) and it seems stupid that Harry won't come back, if even for the stupid reason that the series of books is supposed to chronicle his seven years at school, not six years at school and one year off wandering and getting himself beat up. but if he does go off on "quests" or whatever, I'm sure that Ron, Hermione, and Ginny will go along with him. he'll fight letting Ginny be there, but she'll be there anyway.

I'm guessing Slughorn's going to be back next book, as they now no longer have a potions master per se. and, as usual, they have to find a new DADA professor again. I've never lost hope that Lupin will come back, but that's highly unlikely. maybe it'll be Tonks? (just had that thought about 2 seconds ago, and it's probably stupid...)

I guess that's really all I had to say about that...but it was still a lot.
